June 17, 2017 – Fairy Hills & HWY 99 North of Regina – Atlas Square Bash with Nature Regina
When: Sat, 17 June, 04:30 – 11:30 (Group 1 departs at 04:30, Group 2 departs at 07:30)
Where: Meet at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building, 2405 Legislative Dr, Regina
Each group will meet in front of the Legislative Building Group 1 at 4.30am, Group 2 at 7.30 am. We will carpool and then head out to Fairy Hills and Hwy 99. Please bring your own needs for food and beverage. Drivers in a car pool should receive $7 from each passenger. We will take each group to Fairy Hills and Highway 99 area to look for breeding birds.
Group 1 will go out at 4:30 am and is for those that want to help with point counts where we stand at a prearranged points to listen for birds calling. This is for intermediate to advanced birders who want to improve their listening birding skills.
A second group will leave a 7:30 am to do traditional birding, looking for evidence of breeding birds in the areas and counting birds they see. All skill levels of birders are encouraged to attend this one. Each trip will last as long as needed, but probably about 4 hours per group.
